When someone we love dies we are beset with many powerful feelings. The Funeral Service seeks to minister to this delicate situation by committing the departed person into God's hands, using the Church's liturgy of either a Funeral Service or a Requiem Mass to express our own complex emotions within an atmosphere of faith, hope and love. It is possible to tailor the service for the individual, within appropriate limits. Additionally, the great advantage of a Funeral in church is that it is not restricted to a mere 20 minute service at a crematorium.

Please speak with Father Julian if you would like practical or spiritual advice when bereaved or to arrange your own funeral. Families find this incredibly helpful when the time comes. St. Michael’s has a long tradition of accommodating traditional Afro-Caribbean funerals, and the church can hold over 300 people.
